About Brad Willems

For over 30 years, Brad Willems has assisted families in implementing tax and financial strategies that maximize their inheritances and philanthropic intentions. Brad has authored the book, “No Shortcuts: Ideas for Focused Results in a Distracted World” and has been featured on PBS and Global TV as a financial educator.

Brad puts into practice his strong belief in giving back and making a difference by acting as a lead sponsor and champion assisting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley to raise in excess of $700,000 over the last decade. His community involvement reaches deeper, such as volunteering for his local church in various roles including board chair, as a board member of Briercrest College & Seminary for 16 years, six of those years served as vice chair and as a former board member of the Abbotsford Airport Authority. Brad is also a founding member of the Abbotsford Estate Planning Council and is currently a member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. He also currently serves as a director for Amicus Global Relief Solutions.

Brad is passionate about redirecting every possible dollar of “social capital” (also known as tax dollars) to the organizations that work towards creating a better community, both locally and globally. As a result of his expertise, Brad has helped his audiences redirect over $10 million to the nonprofit sector.

Brad and his wife, Donna, are blessed in having their adult children, Steve and Alicia, and their respective families living nearby which enables them to enjoy ongoing rich family time together.

Brad’s typical clients are high-net worth Canadians between the ages of 55 and 75 living in the Fraser Valley area. They tend to be either entrepreneurs, professionals or optimistic retirees. Philanthropy is a key value which manifests itself in both dollars and hours volunteered. Leaving a legacy is very important to them.
