About
Our hospice home is built on the foundation of care. We understand that living with a life-threatening illness, or providing care for a loved one as they near end of life, can be very difficult. Our specially trained staff and volunteers help our residents and their families live each day to the fullest by focusing on comfort, quality of life, and supporting the precious moments families share with their loved one during their final days together. Our hospice includes ten fully furnished suites with a home-like feel while offering state of the art medical equipment and care.
Chatham-Kent Hospice receives only partial government funding which is restricted in its use. The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation is dedicated to raising the additional funds (approximately 50% of our budget) needed to support the compassionate, end-of-life care provided by the Chatham-Kent Hospice. The Foundation’s focus is not only to secure contributions to support the Hospice but also to foster relationships with our donors and manage their contributions in a responsible and transparent manner.
Our Impact
At Chatham-Kent Hospice, we provide comfort, support and specialized pain and symptom management in a home-like setting. By providing care that addresses the body, mind and spirit, we aim to improve the quality of life for those facing their final days and enrich the experience for their family as well. Care is open to all people facing a terminal illness. Our specially trained staff and volunteers respond to the unique needs of all cultures, ages and belief systems and help the individual, their family and friends through their journey.
We also provide grief & bereavement support to Hospice family members as well as people in the community who have experienced a loss. Being supported through this most difficult life experience has a huge impact on an individual’s ability to cope and heal after the loss of a loved one.
