About
The Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent, works to raise community awareness and funds for the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent (CTC-CK).
For over 70 years, the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent has provided quality care and therapy to children from birth through age 21, who have physical, developmental, or communication challenges. These services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, autism services, audiology, social work, respite, music therapy, and a variety of adapted recreational programs.
Our Impact
Funds raised by the CTC-CK Foundation directly supports therapy and services that our children and youth so richly deserve.
Your support of the Children’s Treatment Centre and Foundation will help ensure that the Centre can continue providing specialized care and therapy to the children in Chatham-Kent, so that children of all abilities can reach their full potential!
These programs include:
Social Work
Registered Social Workers work with children, youth and their families to build social skills, promote positive self-esteem and help with the transition into adulthood, including pursuing postsecondary education, independent living, and finding employment or volunteer opportunities.
Therapeutic Recreation
Therapeutic Recreation Services at the CTC-CK provides recreational opportunities for children with special needs to develop life-long skills and knowledge in the areas of recreation and leisure. Provides year-long sport and recreation opportunities, including pool programming, Challenger baseball, sledge hockey, adapted skating, dance, gymnastics and sailing.
Music Therapy
Music Therapy helps develop a child’s attention span, communication, motor and social skills through singing, playing instruments, listening and expressive movements. Music becomes a great motivator, addressing goals by offering an alternative form of therapy.
