About
For nearly forty years, we have maintained a steadfast dedication to our mission: supporting the vulnerable youth who come through our doors. To this day, we remain committed to this duty.
Covenant House helps youth ignite their potential and reclaim their lives. As Canada’s largest agency serving youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk, we offer the widest range of 24-7 services to more than 300 young people each day.
As a national leader, we educate and advocate for long-term change to improve the lives of vulnerable youth. This includes influencing public policy, leading awareness and prevention programs and continually building and sharing our knowledge. As a learning organization, we strive for excellence and programs with impact.
More than a place to stay, we provide life-changing care with unconditional love and respect. We meet youth’s immediate needs and then we work together to achieve their future goals. We offer housing options, health and well-being support, training and skill development, and ongoing care once youth move into the community.
Thanks to our donors, who contribute almost 80 per cent of our $33-million annual operating budget, we are able to deliver these comprehensive programs and services.
Since 1982, Covenant House has supported more than 100,000 young people.
Our Impact
Since 1982, we’ve provided care for young people who have experienced homelessness and sex trafficking. And we’re still fighting to make sure others do not experience the same challenges.
As a national leader, we combine front line experience with research to ensure the solutions we offer have impact.
To do this, we conduct regular research and evaluation studies and listen carefully to our youth advisory council. Our advocacy at all levels of government pushes forward important agenda items on homelessness, child welfare and sex trafficking.
This relentless dedication has built our reputation as an agency that stays true to its mission.
Our Impact last fiscal year and some of the wins along the way:
- More than 300 youth supported each day.
- 665 young people provided with shelter.
- 108 survivors of sex trafficking supported.
- 222 youth reconnected with families and support networks.

- 70% of youth in our Cooking for Life program secured employment.

The youth who come to our doors have experienced exploitation, abuse, neglect and family breakdown. Many struggle with mental health and addiction issues, finding affordable housing and getting stable and meaningful jobs. Like all young people, they have hopes, dreams and the right to a brighter future.
A gift in your Will helps ensure we can continue providing life-changing care with unconditional love and respect and will help youth transform their lives long into the future. Thanks to our generous donors, Covenant House is able to help thousands of youth achieve their potential.
