About
Family Services of Greater Vancouver is a non-profit working to support and empower individuals, families, and communities.
We offer programs and services designed to help people develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to create positive change in their lives. Our staff – including experienced counsellors and support workers – operates from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens to meet people where they are and get them where they want to be.
Our Impact
Uniting the web of supports and programs we offer clients, we have four impact areas.
We nurture healthy families.
When life’s challenges arise, FSGV is here to provide crisis support, specialized counselling, resource referral, parent education, support groups and more to help families of all kinds thrive.
We support marginalized youth.
When crisis happens to young people, timely support makes a difference today that lasts for a lifetime – carrying forward for generations to come. We have a collection of programs and sites for unhoused youth, where our focus is on meeting their basic needs, providing housing supports, and working on long-term goals at their own pace.
We foster inclusive communities.
Our programs give people safe and equitable spaces for education and opportunity to be connected and engaged community members, regardless of their background.
We empower people.
FSGV provides anti-oppressive, trauma-informed support for victims and survivors, resource referral, counselling, help navigating the criminal justice system, community education, and more.
