About
Health Sciences North is Northeastern Ontario’s regional referral and academic health sciences centre. HSN provides high-quality health services, supports learning, and generates research that improves for people living across the region.
It is a network of integrated facilities and programs working together for the benefit of our patients, communities, physicians, researchers, staff and learners in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care. HSN offers a variety of programs and services that meet many patient care needs, with leading regional programs in the areas of cardiac care, oncology, nephrology, trauma and rehabilitation.
HSN Foundation raises funds to support healthcare excellence through the purchase of innovative equipment, investments in future capital projects and the advancement of life-saving research at HSN for patients across Northeastern Ontario.

“Thanks to the expertise of specialized surgeons and the collaboration between orthopedic and oncology areas, I had an innovative surgery called tumour embolization used to block the blood flow to my tumour, followed by a procedure to remove it and then reconstruction surgery using a prosthetic. Thanks to the incredible support from my dream team of doctors, I’m back to living my life and doing the things I never dreamed would be possible again.”
