About
Meeting the urgent needs of our community’s most vulnerable animals.
Serving the urgent needs of our community’s most vulnerable animals is at the heart of the Guelph Humane Society. For almost 130 years, our team has provided compassionate care and shelter for the homeless, stray, injured and abused animals of Guelph and Wellington County.
Each animal that comes into our care has a story. The story that brought them through our doorway and their happy tail once they leave. It is through donor support that we are able to provide critical medical care and a safe place for rest and recovery between these stories. Our dedicated team works relentlessly to create a happy tail for each of the 3,000+ individual animals that enter our facility each year.
Donations to Guelph Humane Society make our work possible—opening access to love and care for animals that may otherwise not receive it. Funds raised support our animal sheltering, surrender and adoption services, veterinary care, pet identification, a progressive spay/neuter program, lost pet returns and assistance with sick, orphaned or injured wildlife through our nationally recognized program.
Including the Guelph Humane Society in your Will means that our team can plan for, and deliver on, a more sustainable future that can anticipate and meet the evolving needs of the animals in our community.
Our Impact
We provide a wide variety of veterinary care, facilitate adoptions, and teach compassion towards animals on how to best support their well-being. We encourage responsible animals guardianship by providing opportunities that deepen the bond between humans and animals, foster empathy, and enrich lives. We provide a second chance at a heappy, healthy life. Once an animals arries at GHS, hope begins. At GHS, animals have someone advocating and caring for them.
