About
High Notes Avante Productions Inc. is using the power of artistic expression to help raise the image of mental illness and help those affected to move forward on higher notes. We produce events and offer programs that connect, give hope and inspire. Founded in 2013 with the idea that we all have a mental health story and should celebrate what is possible despite it, we have grown from producing one accessible annual gala event with artists and other personalities sharing their mental health stories to also offer other programs that connect us. We have both an in-person and online choir (because singing and producing music is scientifically proven to be good for our mental health), online book club and online movie club. We offer FREE music lessons (by referral) to youth (adults when we have capacity) and plan to offer band and orchestra in the near future.
Our Impact
High Notes Avante (HNA) has inspired thousands of people with the live High Notes Gala for Mental Health and digital Concert of Hope.
HNA has inspired hundreds of artists and other more or less famous personalities locally, nationally and internationally to also share their mental health stories. You are not alone. We all have a story.
HNA provides a safe community for people touched by mental illness to participate in arts activities.
HNA has involved hundreds of volunteers who have a connection to our cause.
Our Founder and Artistic & Executive Director, Ingrid Taheri, won Best Innovative Creation at the 2017 Creative Symposium in Richmond Hill, has been recognized as a Leading Woman in Ontario and been awarded the Queen Jubilee pin.
Your kindness and empathy vis-à-vis our collective mental health struggles is unsurpassed.
