About Island Prostate Centre
Island Prostate Centre is the only non-profit that guides and empowers Vancouver Island men and their families as they navigate the uncertainty of a prostate cancer diagnosis. IPC uniquely offers the time and space patients need to explore their options and human supports so they never have to walk alone.
We know that life doesn’t end with a diagnosis. Our organization is ready to support men in living to the fullest at every step of their prostate health journey, whether they are newly diagnosed or living with the disease. Our programs, which include our Prostate Health Nurse Navigator Program, monthly Prostate Cancer Support Group, our twice a week Cancer Recovery Exercise Program and our peer-led Walking Group, are designed to head-off feelings of isolation, stress and fear that can accompany a diagnosis, restoring confidence and hope. All of our programs are free and do not require a medical referral.
In our 20th year of operation, it is the strength of our community – through donations, grants and events – that allows us to continue to make the strong impact on the families we help. We offer our services to those who need them at no cost, but providing this support isn’t free. As an independent non-profit, we do not receive government funding. Instead, we depend entirely on the generosity of our donor community—and there’s never been a more momentous moment to give.
Our work is only possible with the help of supporters like you who believe wholeheartedly in our cause. Every dollar of your donation stays right here on Vancouver Island to provide life-changing services in our community.
IPC offers more than just information. We provide guidance in decision-making and time and space to work things through – room that can otherwise be difficult to find.
Because of such tremendous community support, we’ve been an integral part of the cancer journey for everyone who has walked through our doors over the past 20 years – and a resilient force in the lives of Vancouver Island men and their families.
With your help, we’ve deepened the quality of care and expanded our programming to keep pace with the growing need in our community.
Together, we’ll push for what’s next: furthering our reach on the Island and strengthening relationships with our medical partners so they know we’re here to help everyone with a prostate cancer diagnosis, right from day 1.

How your gift will be used
Thanks to donations to Island Prostate Centre, we can continue to uniquely offer the time and space people need to explore their options, and ‘human’ supports so no one ever walks alone.
Together we have seen many milestones along the way. Thanks to your generous gifts we have:
• built continued community programs such as the Prostate Health Nurse Navigator Program, Peer Support Program, monthly Prostate Cancer Speaker Series and outreach events;
• expanded the Cancer Recovery Exercise Program to accommodate the high participant demand and to meet the needs of those who are progressing in their success with the program;
• added virtual platforms to all of our service delivery, therefore expanding our reach to support patients all across Vancouver Island.
• arranged cost free psychological counseling services to help men and their families.
Good health and quality of life are important for all members of every family. We thank our community for their important part in providing support to the one-in-nine men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year.
