About Mohawk College
Since 1967, Mohawk College has built a reputation for developing and delivering high quality education and training programs that transform people’s lives. With three main campuses, (Fennell, Stoney Creek, Institute of Health Sciences at McMaster) located in Hamilton and an extensive range of programs, many of our graduates may have touched your life in some way: the registered nurse who helped deliver your baby, the child care worker who mentored your children, the mortgage specialist at your bank, the civil engineering technologist who helped design a new highway, or the construction engineering technician who helped build your home.
We are proud to serve over 14,000 full-time, part-time and apprenticeship students annually and have graduated over 115,000 students from over 160 different programs.
As educators, we are privileged to witness first-hand the positive impact education has on our students – those entering the workforce, as well as mature students in need of skills and education upgrades. Given the right tools, motivation and support, our students have the ability to break barriers and affect change both locally and globally.
Support received from our donors provides much needed funds, ensuring our students have access to innovative programs, world class faculty and training facilities, along with vital scholarships and bursaries.
How your gift will be used
Imagine your legacy gift transforming the lives of students for future generations to come. Creating such a gift is simple, yet a significant way to make a lasting impact. In doing so, it is completely up to you how it is structured.
We are grateful to donors, like Linda Elliott, who have made planned gifts in support of our students.
As a single mother, Linda knew first hand what a struggle it was to pay for her daughter’s post secondary education in Police Foundations.
After her daughter graduated, and during her own career, Linda took many business and computer courses at Mohawk to upgrade her skills. This experience created a lasting, positive impact on their lives, inspiring Linda to carry on her values, beliefs, and philanthropic goals by leaving a gift in her will.
“I want to make a positive difference in my community, and leave a part of me that will live on forever, touching the lives of young students for generations to come. Knowing my award will forever change lives in a positive and meaningful way gives me immense joy and pleasure,” said Linda.
Linda hopes to inspire others to consider a legacy of education.
