About The Scott Mission

The Scott Mission was founded in 1941 by Rev. Morris and Mrs. Annie Zeidman. The Scott Mission is a non-denominational Christian organization responding to the needs of the poor, homeless, abandoned and vulnerable of all ages. Based in Toronto, Canada, the Mission offers practical, emotional and spiritual support to thousands of people every year.

While religious belief and practice are never conditions for receiving help and assistance, and everyone is welcome regardless of faith background, The Scott Mission is committed to the spiritual well-being of all people through the life and witness of Jesus Christ. We would like everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus, and to express this relationship in a life of integrity and in acts of kindness toward others.

Our Impact

The Scott Mission is focused on the poorest of the poor. Among our many services, we offer hot meals, a low-cost daycare, a summer camp for children and youth, clothing, groceries, shower and laundry facilities for the homeless, an overnight shelter, and an after-school program for children and youth.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how we have provided services and supports for our clients, but during these uncertain times, we know that our clients rely on us to provide the food, groceries, clothing and the shelter that they need.

We have continued to provide an elevated level of health and safety for our community including clients, volunteers, donors, and staff, while at the same time providing needed services to some of the most vulnerable citizens in Toronto.

In 2020 the Mission:

·       Served 77,014 hot meals

·       Provided 16,886 nights of shelter

·       Gave 22,000+ bags of groceries for families in need

·       Promoting health and safety by providing PPE, wellness checks, enhanced cleaning protocols, and social distancing measures

·       191 children and youth received guidance through our youth programming

·       2600+ families were provided with Christmas help, including food and gifts

·       Life-changing counseling and life transformation for hundreds through ministry programs
