Summer Street Industries is an organization based in Pictou County, Nova Scotia that creates and facilitates opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, one person at a time. We strive to create mutually beneficial opportunities for our clients (participants & employees) and the community. Our direction comes from the people we serve; this means we meet the unique and diverse needs and desires of individuals as much as possible. Our spectrum of services takes into account personal interests and varying degrees of ability and independence. We believe that engaging all abilities benefits everyone! Our Impact
With 200 program participants; over 30 staff; 2000 donors; thousands of customers; and a network of partners, Summer Street is a vibrant part of the Pictou County community. We offer a full spectrum of programs and services to meet the diverse needs of the people we serve. We are driven by the desire for an equal playing field where everyone is treated with fairness and respect. Clients may be involved in any of our programs including vocational, life enhancement, wellness, literacy, and employment. In-house social enterprises include catering and events, trophies, and mail services. There is a mutually beneficial impact on our clients (participants and employees) and our community in Pictou County.
