About
The performing arts has the power to bring us together.
TO Live believes that the arts are crucial to create healthy, vibrant, and engaged diverse communities. As stewards of landmark city theatres, we activate our spaces through programming and rentals. We are a creative hub for audiences, artists and all those who work with us.
TO Live is one of Canada’s largest arts organizations, operating three iconic venues in Toronto: Meridian Hall, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, and Meridian Arts Centre. With seven stages, an art gallery, and several communities and event spaces, TO Live embraces creativity from all walks of society and art forms. We seek out partners from many different communities. We strive to represent the rich cultures of Toronto and the globe authentically.
Our Impact
A vision to build a better city through the arts.
For decades, our venues have welcomed thousands of guests from around the world to enjoy remarkable experiences–from plays to stand-up comedy to jazz concerts by local indie artists, internationally-acclaimed companies, and everyone in between.
Over 500,000 people visited TO Live venues in 2019 to enjoy over 1,000 performances, events and workshops. Through our original programming, access to facilities, and myriad community partnerships, TO Live:
- Empowers Toronto’s creative diversity, supporting marginalized voices with commissions, residencies and access to facilities. TO Live produces world-class programming across seven stages and three venues.
- Grows artistic potential by providing the resources to scale productions and elevate talent. We support artists and organizations to reach their full potential and help them reach new audiences through the provision of resources, technical support, access to spaces and digital platforms.
- Makes the benefits of the arts accessible to all. TO Live offers free programming that ensures inclusivity of all economic levels: free drop-in classes, subsidized tickets, and school programs that bring local artists to schools. We engage new and young audiences through creative outlets and learning.
