About Unique Get Together Society
The UGTS mission started as and continues to remain about empowering underserved people and communities. We are proud to be a BIPOC focused organization and our mission is to stand up and stand with those that need justice.
Core values are based on: love, healing, independence, change, service, and community.
Services span weekly Emergency Hamper Delivery, trauma-informed therapies, to one-to-one care for kids with extra needs, sports camps for all kids, respite care, behavioral intervention, family strength programming, addictions relief, employment opportunities, and more.
With a client-centered approach, the needs-based approach starts with the questions “What do you need and how can we help.” This in turn informs UGTS programming creation.
The impact has seen a rapid growth of impacting over 1,000 families and individuals and counting on our list for services over the course of the pandemic. Our impact has grown so much so that we now offer services in Greater Vancouver Regional District as well as the Fraser Valley.
Our dedication to helping those in need and serving the general public is even more crucial during this unprecedented time. Our ability to connect with the community aids in providing creative solutions that fit the needs of those served.
How your gift will be used
All gifts go towards inclusive equality-focused services that help families and individuals living in challenging situations.
Our programs often act as an intermediate source for people waiting for funding from the government, are in between jobs or have mobility challenges and cannot reach traditional funding sources and so they need programs and services to reach out to them. Or, we are forwarded to a single mom that is starting out with nothing after going through addictions recovery programs. She is receiving her children from foster care with little to no resources for their behavioural reactions to the uncertainties that they are encountering.
