About
In Alberta, seniors are facing rising costs, social isolation, food insecurity and increased risks of mental health issues and elder abuse, and the need for support has never been greater. This is a defining moment to rally behind seniors in our community and ensure they receive the support and resources they need to thrive.
Unison has been a cornerstone of support for Calgary’s seniors for over 50 years. The organization was founded in 1973 by a small group of compassionate people committed to helping seniors live their best lives.
For more than five decades our mission has never wavered: to enhance the lives of seniors by providing essential support services that promote mental and physical health, ensure safety from elder abuse, combat growing food insecurity, and offer diverse programs that foster well-being and engagement.
Each year, we serve more than 30,000 seniors in Calgary and southern Alberta, helping them stay connected, active, and independent. We’re here to make sure that the journey for seniors from all walks of life is filled with joy, community and dignity.
With a gift to Unison in your Will, you will help create a brighter future for seniors. You will be there when a low-income senior doesn’t have enough food to eat. You will be there when a lonely senior gets a call from a friendly volunteer to check in. You will be there when a senior is grieving the loss of a loved one. You will be there to provide a safe place for a senior fleeing abuse. By remembering Unison in your Will, your kindness will always be there.
