About
Inspiring philanthropy to benefit our community today and forever!
The WindsorEssex Community Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to improving communities across Windsor-Essex County through collaboration, strategic leadership, and innovative solutions to charitable giving.
Over the past 38 years, the WindsorEssex Community Foundation has accumulated over $20 million in assets and has granted over $10 million to a wide array of charitable programs. Having expanded our reach and legacy giving through the form of community initiatives, such as Random Act of Kindness Day, the Vital Signs Program, Inspiration 100, and the Will Power Program, we provide donors with unique ways to support and build Windsor-Essex County.
Why work with us?
Most of us spend a lifetime contributing to a cause that’s close to our heart. But more and more Canadians are going one step further to leave a gift to charity in their Will. You can make a bigger contribution than you ever thought possible, without using any of the money you need now. The WindsorEssex Community Foundation provides you with the opportunity and flexibility to create your own personal philanthropic fund suited specifically to your needs and interests. Every donation to an endowment fund at the WECF is kept in perpetuity. This means that only the proceeds earned from investment of your donation are used to grant back to the community. An endowment is an everlasting gift to the community, continuing to give year after year to the causes and charities you care about.
Our Impact
Our impact is your impact. Leaving a legacy at the WindsorEssex Community Foundation is about creating the change you want to see in the world. We can work with you to identify how to have the greatest impact with your legacy today, tomorrow, and forever. Tangible and sustainable change is created when donors listen, learn more deeply, and become engaged with the community. That’s why we’re proud to support and share our connections with smaller and mid-sized organizations that do so much of the heavy lifting involved in addressing inequalities.
