Our vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. A safe and affordable place to call home is the foundation for a better life. It strengthens families, creates opportunities, and fuels strong, thriving communities.
Habitat for Humanity is a global movement of people, working side by side to make homeownership accessible for more families. Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International has grown to have a presence in more than 70 countries.
In Canada, our journey began in 1985 with the first Habitat home built in Winkler, Manitoba. Since then, we’ve partnered with close to 5,000 families from coast to coast to coast, helping them achieve the benefits of affordable homeownership. As part of a global federation, we also directly support international housing solutions in countries beyond our borders.
By working alongside families to build, repair, and finance homes; advocating for bold, equitable pathways to homeownership; and pioneering innovative approaches to housing affordability, Habitat for Humanity Canada is bringing homeownership within reach for more families.
Thanks to our generous corporate and individual donors, thousands of volunteers, and customers at our 100+ Habitat ReStores, we continue to build homes, communities and hope in Canada and around the world.
