About Milton District Hospital Foundation
Everything we do, everything the healthcare heroes at our hospital do and everything our donors do is about delivering exemplary patient experiences always. That is why we are grateful for every life your donation touches.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and our community, Milton District Hospital Foundation has been successful in funding the hospital’s annual and ongoing need for equipment and technology.
Your continued support of the Milton District Hospital Foundation offers an enduring impact. By staying up-to-date with new advances in equipment and technology, the hospital can provide your family, friends, and neighbours with better patient care and optimal patient experience.
Without the ongoing generosity of donors, our hospital is just a building. Government funding does not support the purchase of vital new and replacement equipment needed to care for our patients. Virtually all new equipment required for our hospital is funded through the generosity of our donors. Each year, the staff and physicians at our hospital develop a list of equipment they need for the upcoming year. Some equipment is new and some are replacements, but all have been prioritized for this year. Every piece of equipment is critical and needs to be funded by our community.
Your gift will help us ensure that we can provide high-quality health care at Milton District Hospital today and for generations to come.
Dorothy Featherston took her first flight when she was ninety years old and on the same trip she also had the opportunity to ride a motorcycle for the first time in her life. While it is evident that Dorothy was adventurous, she was also firmly committed to her family, church and community.
This commitment is demonstrated in a generous bequest that Dorothy made to Milton District Hospital Foundation to support the purchase of equipment. She was grateful for the medical care that she and her family had received over the course of their lives and she wanted to give back. Dorothy passed away in August 2019 at the age of 98.
Brian Penman, the Chair of Milton District Hospital Foundation, had the opportunity to meet with Dorothy when she was making her bequest. He recalls, “Dorothy was excited about how much our hospital has grown. She was pleased that her contribution would ensure that our medical staff have the equipment and technology they need to save lives and provide high-quality health care to our patients. The ripple effects of Dorothy’s generosity will be seen and felt throughout our community for years to come.”
How your gift will be used
While we don’t know what the future holds; with your support MDHF will be prepared to address any challenge. Just the same as we were able to address the new safety measures required when COVID-19 came along this year. Who knows what the medical priorities will be in the future but a gift planned now in your estate will ensure we have the financial resources to answer the call. It truly is a gift of a lifetime.
