Located in fast-growing west Ottawa, QCH has built its reputation as a leading acute care hospital by seeing the person in each of the nearly 500,000 people who turn to it for care each year. QCH’s agility and collaborative culture enable it to respond quickly to our community’s most pressing healthcare challenges through advanced programs that reinvent models of patient care.
In 2021, QCH was named the #1 hospital in Ottawa by Newsweek magazine and has also been named a top employer in Canada by Forbes magazine.
Donations to QCH Foundation help support our hospital’s core programs and services including surgery, emergency care, critical care, medical services, childbirth, care of the elderly, acute rehabilitation services, and mental healthcare.

Our Impact
Since the doors of QCH opened in 1976, outstanding support from thousands of caring donors has helped transform healthcare for our community. These contributions have made possible significant additions and improvements to almost every area of the hospital, more than doubling the footprint of the original buildings. More modern, comfortable, spacious facilities improve patient outcomes, and the entire patient experience from the moment a patient walks through our doors.
Facility upgrades have allowed QCH to expand programs and services to meet the healthcare needs of our rapidly growing and changing community. Originally built to serve a population of about 100,000, QCH now serves more than 500,000 west-Ottawa residents.
Donations are also essential for funding new tools and technology. With up-to-date equipment and modern facilities, QCH has been able to attract and retain the compassionate, expert medical talent for which we are known. These professionals are a tremendous asset to our hospital, our patients, and our entire community.
