SaskAbilities

About

SaskAbilities’ vision of “working together to build inclusive communities for people of all abilities” has assisted and will continue to assist thousands of individuals in Saskatchewan each year to optimize their life in their communities.

SaskAbilities has been serving individuals experiencing disability since 1950. Programs and services continue to evolve to meet individual needs through supports for independent living, employment and training, and community engagement.

Through a process of person-centred assessments and supports, individualized plans are developed for each individual to enhance their life.

We treat people with respect, honesty, and compassion.

Our programs and services are client-centred, goal-orientated, and accountable.

We value teamwork, excellence, and innovation.

SaskAbilities serves the entire province through its office in Saskatoon, Regina, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Yorkton and Manitou Lake for Camp Easter Seal.

Our Impact

SaskAbilities serves about 60,000 individuals per year – the service can range from a one-time distribution of a special needs equipment item to daily supports in some of our community programs.

SaskAbilities builds inclusive communities by:

  • Providing a range of independent living services like orthopaedics, special needs equipment, adaptive technology services, access transit, residential services, and the accessible parking program which allows individuals to interact in their communities as independently as possible by accommodating their disability;
  • Offering community support programs like day programs, Camp Easter Seal, Crisis Prevention and Support, Partners in Mental Health and Well-Being, Summer Fun which facilitate participation in mainstream community functioning;
  • Helping individuals experiencing disability to train for and secure employment in the community through our supported employment programs.

How your gift will be used

Your legacy gift:

  • ensures individuals experiencing disability will continue to be supported for generations to come;
  •  will allow SaskAbilities to continue evolving with individuals and communities as innovative technologies and societal norms emerge; and
  • will be used to continue building inclusive communities where all people experiencing disability are welcomed and supported to realize their dreams and aspirations in their community.

Individuals making a legacy gift to SaskAbilities will be invited to join the FutureAbilities Community – a community of like-minded generous individuals “supporting inclusive communities with a legacy gift.”
