About

The Anglican Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island is a community of people who seek to be the hands and feet of Christ Jesus for all people.

Through the resources God has provided you, together we support our diocese, churches, and affiliated ministries – the ministries, programs, and communities that matter to you.

Thank you for stewarding a gift that grows out of your faith and the abundance given to you by God.

As a diocese we aim to participate in God’s mission of reconciling the world to God through Jesus Christ. We seek to create and sustain Christ-centered, mission-minded-ministering communities of faith.

How?

By focusing on the Marks of Mission of the Anglican Communion (1984) which are:

  • to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom;
  • to teach, baptize and nurture new believers;
  • to respond to human need by loving service;
  • to seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation; (revised wording Nov2012)
  • to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth.

Our dioceses is spread throughout the provinces of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, helping us to connect with thousands of people each year. We have 96 parishes consisting of 224 congregations and each is creating and sustaining programs and ministries that are making a difference in their local community and beyond by being the hands and feet of Christ Jesus. Many of our Anglican churches and organizations exist because past generations cared so much about the future of the Anglican Church and expressed their caring by creating planned gifts.

Our Impact

Together, we can play a significant role in building the church of the future.

You have the power, through a gift in your Will, to build a strong foundation for our diocese and your church.

Healthy and vibrant ministries in your church, your community, our diocese, and beyond is built upon the legacies we leave today. A gift in your will to your church and/or our diocese continues your participation in God’s mission of reconciling the world to God through Christ Jesus. Your thoughtful donation creates and sustains Christ-centered, mission-minded communities of faith that focus on loving our neighbours and our planet.

Each of our churches and ministries make a difference in the lives of the people that we meet. We make a difference in big and small ways by meeting physical, environmental, spiritual, social, and other tangible needs. Our diocese and each parish depends on generous contributions from individuals such as you, who care about this critical work.

We hope you will make a gift that enables your church and diocese to continue to respond to God’s call in meaningful and lasting ways.

How your gift will be used

Your planned gift ensures the ministries you care deeply for are well supported.

You are welcomed to direct your gift to works of justice, faith formation, care and belonging, or you may choose to support your parish’s area of greatest need. However you direct your gift, it will provide new tomorrows for your church, your community, and our diocese. A gift in your will enables current ministries to continue and new initiatives to be funded.

We are stewards of God’s bounty. For a brief period we are given time, energy, and resources. What we do with these gifts demonstrates the values we hold. Planned giving is one expression of the wise use of the personal resources God has entrusted to us and a way to share our values.
