Senior in Wheelchair with Child

The Bethany Care Foundation

Anyone, at any time, can require continuing care. It is not defined by age or diagnosis, but level of care – and, by 2030, the need for continuing care is expected to grow by 62 percent in Alberta. Right now, at the onset of this unprecedented growth, you can help shape the future of continuing care in Alberta.

Bethany Care Foundation is dedicated to raising funds in support of Bethany Care Society. Operating in eight communities throughout central and southern Alberta, Bethany is one of western Canada’s largest and longest serving not-for-profit providers of care for seniors and adults with disabilities. Bethany provides a full spectrum of housing and care options, including long-term care, supportive living, independent living, affordable housing and community services for over 2,400 residents and tenants.

By donating to Bethany Care Foundation, you are enhancing quality of life for people currently in care and ensuring the thousands of Albertans who will come into care in the next decade have the very best services, programs and facilities not otherwise provided for in Alberta’s continuing care model. Let’s provide Albertans the quality care we all want and deserve as we age.

Our Impact

Founded in 2003, Bethany Care Foundation raises $1M annually on behalf of Bethany Care Society to support seniors and adults with disabilities living in Bethany care communities. Donors help Bethany go above and beyond in its quality care, making Bethany exceptional. Your gift can help residents in the Bethany community of your choice or support the service that is most meaningful to you, such as music, art, animal and garden therapy or spiritual wellness. You can also support the organization’s greatest needs which provides innovations in care and facility enhancements.

How your gift will be used

Special gifts, such as your legacy gift, help Bethany advance continuing care for seniors and adults with disabilities. You will be making a difference for some of the most vulnerable people in Alberta. One remarkable innovation in care, made possible through donor generosity, was the development of a purpose-built care site, Bethany Riverview. Here Bethany cares for seniors with complex dementia needs. From creating neighbourhoods where residents feel at home to providing services and programs that support their mental and emotional well-being, Bethany Riverview is an important advancement in continuing care. With rates of dementia rising, the need for Bethany’s specialized work in this field is increasingly essential. Your support helps Bethany lead the transformation of Albertans aging well.
