Cité de la Santé foundation was born in 1980. It still bears its original name, which is the one of hospital of Laval. Since 2015, it has been the main foundation serving the entire Laval Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS), which gathers more than thirty facilities, including CLSCs, the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital, CHSLD and of course, the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital.
Our mission ? Contribute to the health care and social services improvement offered at Laval CISSS for the entire population of Laval and the surrounding area.
How ? By funding each year more than $1 million in medical equipment, in projects to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries, in training, research and education and in improving infrastructures.
We’re here from the beginning to the end of life, to treat wounds, accompany births, soothe mental health problems, support our elders in their living environments and much more. We fund projects in physical health, mental health, prevention, public health and support for vulnerable communities. We are the expression of a community that takes care of its people. We are a PROFOUNDLY HUMAN movement.
Our Impact
In 40 years, more than $40 million have been raised for projects related to our mission.
To provide quality care and services to Laval’s community, every donation is important. Cité de la Santé Foundation makes it possible to aquire state-of-the-art medical equipment. It also helps support research and education allowing quality and local care, now and for generations to come. It supports the deployment of projects and initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries, often among the most vulnerable populations in Laval (young people housed in Youth Centers, seniors with loss of autonomy, refugees, etc.). Finally, Cité de la Santé Foundation helps supporting the development of skills and the training of employees of the CISSS de Laval, so they can constantly renew their motivation to provide the best care possible.
