For over 40 years, Gillian’s Place has been providing safe haven to women, non-binary folks, and their children escaping the cycle of violence and abuse. Beyond our 34-bed emergency shelter, Gillian’s Place offers a wide spectrum of free and confidential support services to women and children living within our community. These services include a 24/7 crisis support line, expert counselling, child and youth programs, legal advocacy and support, education and violence prevention programs, and a transitional support and housing program.
Our Impact
Gillian’s Place provides safe shelter and support services to thousands of women, non-binary folks, and children in the Niagara Region each year. Last year, we sheltered 196 women, non-binary folks and their children, answered 5,562 calls on our crisis line, and provided support to an additional 3,313 women, non-binary folks, and their children through our outreach services, helping them to reach their goals of living a life free from violence and abuse.
