About
The Halton Learning Foundation believes every student deserves a chance to learn and define their future.
Supporting Halton District School Board students in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville, HLF provides emergency financial assistance for children and their families. HLF also offers a number of scholarships to help students make the most of their opportunities when they graduate from high school.
Throughout Halton, we also provide grants to schools to support student mental health and wellbeing, equity and inclusion, Indigenous awareness, and arts and music programs.
Our Impact
In the Halton District School Board, 1 in 10 students experience poverty.
Halton Learning Foundation provides support for students and families who need emergency help with food, clothing, hygiene basics, school supplies, field trips, and school teams. When we eliminate barriers to learning, students stay engaged in their education.
In the last school year, over 1,400 students received emergency assistance, which educators tell us improved students’ ability to participate in learning.
HLF also oversees almost 70 awards and scholarships for graduating students to continue following their dreams at college and university.
