CMHA Waterloo Wellington is working to build a community in which everyone has what they need to live meaningful lives. We build human connections that make it possible for people to achieve their greatest potential. We inspire and support people in achieving the quality of life that they desire.

CMHA Waterloo Wellington is the second largest CMHA in Canada providing a full care system for those with mental health, substance-use, and/or developmental needs.

CMHA Waterloo Wellington offers a wide-range of services from children’s mental health and developmental services to adult counselling and treatment, eating disorders, first step psychosis, team-based care for those with complex mental health needs, housing, employment, mental health promotion and education, as well as mental health and intensive geriatric supports for seniors.  Psychiatric services are offered in children’s, adult’s, and senior’s programs. Our programs help individuals and families to lead lives filled with meaning and promise.

CMHA Waterloo Wellington is dedicated to supporting resilience and recovery – where resilience is the strength to maintain hope and recovery is a journey towards enriched quality of life.

Our Impact

CMHA Waterloo Wellington provides mental health and substance use support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. We are actively engaged in supporting and transforming the mental health system across our communities so we can better support clients, families, and Waterloo-Wellington residents.

We provide more than 100 programs and services to all ages and serve almost 19,000 individuals each year.

In 2023 CMHA Waterloo Wellington:

  • Served 18,924 individuals through more than 100 programs and services
  • Answered 44,149 calls to Here 24/7 the local crisis and intake line for all mental health and substance use services in Waterloo-Wellington
  • Answered 1,334 call to 9-8-8, a Canada-wide crisis helpline.
  • Served 2,498 children and youth through our children’s services
  • Equipped 1,746 participants through our Skills for Safer Living program, and intervention program designed for individuals experiencing persistent suicide ideation and behaviours.
