About
Led by an independent board of directors, Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation (previously known as Pacific Parklands Foundation) is the only registered charity dedicated to supporting Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.
With the number of park visitors rapidly rising, we work to fill the gaps in public funding to ensure our parks remain spectacular. Through unique programs and funding opportunities, we connect people with the resources they need to complete inspiring conservation, education and enhancement projects which help Metro Vancouver Regional Parks be the best they can be.
Each gift you give helps enhance and protect our regional parks and connect people with nature for now, and for the future.
Our Impact
Your generosity funds healthy parks and communities in some of the most beautiful, sought after regional parks in the world. Thriving parks depend on local community support and engagement. Since 2000, the Foundation has acquired land, built endowments and invested over $3 million into projects and programs in regional parks. We’ve built bat condos and restored ecologically sensitive wetlands; We’ve funded wheelchair-accessible boardwalks and funded pollinator gardens; We’ve helped bees, trees, whales, snails, frogs, bogs, lakes and snakes. All of our good news is because of donors like YOU.
In the last year alone:
- 3,000+ field trip participants (ranging everywhere from new immigrants, to senior centres to kindergarten classes) were welcomed to the regional parks via the Bus Grant Program this year. Many for the first time!
- 2,224 native trees and plants were planted in 2023 via the Foundations and CreativeBC’s REEL Earth Day Challenge. 832kg of invasive species were removed and a total of 10,100 m² were restored and protected.
- 500+ CTS Youth Society participants gained access to an otherwise unattainable summer camp experience this year, packed with a summer of laughter, friendship and outdoor education; completely free of charge to all registrants.
