About
4-H is one of the longest running youth organizations in Canada. 4-H Saskatchewan is a club-based youth organization for youth ages 6-21.
The 4-H Saskatchewan program strives to encourage individual growth in young people by developing self-confidence, the ability to make wise decisions, enhance responsible attitudes toward community service, and promotes community involvement through mentorship and leadership. 4-H Saskatchewan focus on hands-on, experiential learning opportunities where youth choose one or more projects to complete throughout their 4-H year, all the while learning new skills and having fun under the guidance of our motto Learn To Do By Doing.
Some of the 4-H Saskatchewan programs include leadership conferences, public speaking, 4-H Summer Camp, curling and livestock competitions, and more.
We uphold the following core values to create a safe and caring environment where we all can thrive:
- Honour and Integrity – Treating one another respectfully and fairly
- Responsibility – Being dependable and accountable for our actions
- Cooperation – Working as a team to achieve our goals
- Fun – Creating positive and enjoyable experiences
Our Impact
We work to spread the impact of 4-H to help youth develop skills needed to lead in an ever-changing future. We take an active role in building public trust by developing leaders that grow the agriculture sector. However, for families living in an urban center, there is still plenty of opportunity to engage with 4-H! 4-H programs are not limited to only rural residents, and 4-H is working to better service urban families.
There is an immense amount of opportunity within the 4-H program. Members are able to socialize and create lifelong friendship, bond over fun activities and project work through our extensive list of available projects. Our program also offers effective leadership training for youth, where they can hold executive positions in their clubs, teach younger members, and join committees and governance boards!
4-H members have access to many scholarships that are reserved for 4-H members, and there are inter-provincial and international travel opportunities at discounted rates.
Parents can get involved in 4-H as club leaders, which helps strengthen family bonds and build up the 4-H is a community. Joining our organization connects you to a group of people working together to prepare the next generation of leaders.
