About
UNICEF is the world’s leading humanitarian organization for children, working in more than 190 countries and territories. We defend the right to a childhood so children everywhere can grow up safe, healthy and able to reach their incredible potential.
Our work relies entirely on voluntary contributions. With support from Canadians like you, we are reaching the world’s children with health care and vaccines, education, nutrition, safe water and sanitation, and protection. Because of donor generosity, UNICEF is vaccinating 45% of the world’s children under 5 from deadly diseases, saving 2-3 millions of lives each year.
Our Impact
Extraordinary circumstances continue to put children at risk – especially as they suffer the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. But there is hope. As part of the United Nations family, we work with key actors on the ground (governments, communities and local partners) to multiply results for children at a scale that would otherwise not be possible.
UNICEF is there for children before, during and long after emergencies strike. No matter the crisis or challenge, we are ready at a moment’s notice and will not give up. Together, we are tackling the greatest challenges facing children today and tomorrow, helping them to survive and have a brighter future. With you by our side, we are creating a better world for generations to come, for every child.
