World Vision Canada is the largest international relief, development, and advocacy organization in Canada. We bring real and lasting changes to the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children and their communities.
As part of a global World Vision Partnership, for 70 years, we’ve worked with communities, donors, partners, and governments in over 100 countries, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice. By creating opportunities for children and their families, we help empower them to rise out of poverty and build brighter futures. With the support of our donors, we have impacted the lives of over 200 million vulnerable children by promoting holistic change.
World Vision Canada provides:
- Transformational development that is community-based, sustainable, and focused especially on the needs of children. This includes ensuring families have access to clean water, nutritious food, education, healthcare, child protection, and economic opportunities.
- Emergency relief that assists people affected by conflict or disaster. When these situations happen, we are on the ground quickly to provide immediate support – and we stay, helping people rebuild their lives and communities.
- Promotion of justice that seeks to change unjust structures that affect the poor by equipping communities with information while advocating for systemic change. Including promoting gender equality, fostering enabling environments and elevating the social value of women and girls.
Our Impact
Our impact goals are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to “achieve a better and more sustainable future for all” by 2030.
We focus on reaching people in the world’s most dangerous places plagued by volatility, violence, and political turmoil. We provide immediate and emergency support to enable women, men, girls, and boys to survive. We then help communities rebuild and recover, grow stronger, pivot, and adapt. Finally, we increase the resilience of children and their communities for the long term, so that they can thrive.
