About World Vision
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. Inspired by our Christian values, World Vision is dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
Since 1950, World Vision has contributed to the well-being of over 200 million vulnerable children by tackling the root causes of poverty and promoting holistic change. Our multi-sector approach equips communities to transform from surviving to thriving through both emergency and transformational development approaches. For 70 years whenever a crisis has struck including outbreaks such as Ebola, the Zika virus and most recently COVID-19, World Vision has been there. We have health experts and well-trained rapid response teams in place that are actively responding. In the time it takes to read this sentence, World Vision will have reached 50 new people with needed knowledge, supplies, or resources to help them protect themselves and their families from the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
From emergencies to recovery, World Vision is there to stay in a community for 15+ years to ensure sustainability and local ownership. Our impact goals are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations to work towards 2030 and strengthen all our efforts towards a better world for children and their families. One example of this is that every 30 seconds a new person receives clean water
