About
Yarmouth Hospital Foundation is a registered charity working to connect the generosity of donors throughout the Tri-County area to the needs of our regional hospital.
Our Impact
For more than fifty years, we have empowered businesses, local government, community groups and individuals to assist Yarmouth Regional Hospital in building better health care for the families and individuals of Yarmouth, Digby & Shelburne counties. In that time, we have contributed over $26 million towards vital equipment and infrastructure. Over the last ten years, our contribution to our hospital has been, on average, more than $800,000 a year.
Yarmouth Hospital Foundation also provides funding towards important health care initiatives in our area including:
- Scholarships for nine nursing students attending the Dalhousie School of Nursing (Yarmouth Campus).
- Annual community grants for projects that support the priorities of Nova Scotia Health in the Tri-County area.
- Supporting the Dalhousie University South West Nova Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Supporting the Community Navigator initiative aimed at retaining the physicians we have and attracting new ones.
