Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the IWK Foundation is the philanthropic engine behind the quality care offered at IWK Health, enabling improved health services, research, and support for women, children and families in the Maritimes through community generosity and strategic fundraising.
Whether raising funds to purchase new and advanced medical equipment, fund programs or leading-edge research or upgrade care spaces and technology, we want Maritime women, children and families to have the best specialized care possible.

IWK Health is the largest pediatric hospital and trauma centre in Atlantic Canada. IWK Health is also one of only two health centres in Canada that specializes in care for both women and children.

We’re proud to share some of the ways donors have made a difference:
• IWK Emergency Department – The power of community has been on full display as donors have collectively helped build a new IWK Emergency Department (ED). We know that environment dramatically impacts patient outcomes. This has been the guiding principle behind every aspect of the new ED, including the creation of a purposefully designed space connecting the ED and the rest of the IWK.
• Panda Warmers – Donors helped fund new Panda Warmers for the IWK Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), this equipment provides critical aspects of care for premature infants. The warmers feature a resuscitation system that enables IWK care teams to quickly access life-saving measures. It also keeps infants safe and warm.
