Located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the IWK Foundation raises funds to support the urgent priority needs of IWK Health. It is the preeminent fundraising movement for children and women’s healthcare in the Maritimes.
Whether raising funds to purchase new and advanced medical equipment, fund programs or leading-edge research or upgrade care spaces and technology, we want Maritime women, children and families who need the IWK to have the best specialized care possible.

IWK Health is the largest pediatric hospital and trauma centre in Atlantic Canada. IWK Health is also one of only two health centres in Canada that cares for both women and children.
Our Impact
Our impact is truly our donors’ impact. Donor support is why IWK patients and families have hope, comfort and healing. And donor support is helping to change and improve the lives of patients and families in our region.
We’re proud to share some of the impactful ways our donors have made a difference:
• The IWK’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is among the best in the world. The new fully donor-funded NICU has 38 private family rooms offering privacy, a place to sleep and a private bathroom with a shower. They are equipped with the latest technology and keep babies, and families close during their stay.
• Wireless Smart Beds, Chest Retractors and CADD Infusion Pumps are just a snapshot of the pieces of vital equipment donors have helped purchase for the IWK. By ensuring the IWK has the latest medical equipment and advanced technology, Maritime women, children, and families can receive the specialized and outstanding care for which the IWK is known.
