What’s Next

Supporting this vision is the development of the Ken Sargent House, a new 21-room supported accommodation facility currently being constructed near the hospital campus. Ken Sargent House will provide safe, supportive lodging for patients and families who must travel for medical care, helping reduce barriers to treatment and improving access to healthcare services throughout the region.

Our Impact

For more than 35 years, the Foundation has connected donor generosity with the evolving needs of regional healthcare, helping bridge critical funding gaps and improving care for patients and families. Thanks to this ongoing support, the state-of-the-art Grande Prairie Regional Hospital opened its doors in December 2021 with the tools, technology, and services needed to deliver exceptional care closer to home.

Your generosity is also helping bring Ken Sargent House to life. Ken Sargent House will provide a safe, welcoming place for patients and families travelling for medical care, reducing the stress and financial burden of being away from home during treatment and recovery. By improving access to care and support services, this important project will have a lasting impact on patients throughout Northern Alberta and the Peace Region.

Because of you, more patients can remain closer to home, family, and friends during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

How your gift will be used

Your planned gift will play a vital role in advancing healthcare across the Peace Region by supporting state-of-the-art technology, equipment, patient care programs, and the ongoing development of Ken Sargent House.

Legacy gifts will help establish a permanent endowment fund to sustain the long-term operating costs of Ken Sargent House, ensuring patients and families travelling for medical care have access to safe, affordable, and supportive accommodations for generations to come. By reducing the financial and emotional burden of medical travel, your contribution will help more people remain close to essential care and support systems during difficult times.

Leave a legacy that creates lasting impact. The Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation offers a variety of giving options to help you build a meaningful family legacy, including bequests, life insurance, publicly traded securities, RRSPs, endowments, property, art, and cash donations. Your generosity today will continue caring for patients and families well into the future.
