About
Mackenzie Health Foundation is the fundraising arm of Mackenzie Health, a dynamic regional health care provider that has been caring for our community for six decades now. Originally, Mackenzie Health was known as York Central Hospital and served a community of 25,000 residents. Sixty years, three wings and one entirely new hospital later, that number has grown to over one million residents and counting. Now, Mackenzie Health consists of Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and our newest hospital, Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital.
Both hospitals have a full-service emergency department, core services including critical care, medical imaging, medicine and surgery, as well as specialized services such as pediatrics, mental health care, obstetrics, stroke care and many more. The programs within our hospitals are complemented by services provided in our community-based locations that provide patients and families in our community with the care they need, as soon as they need it.
Our Impact
Our job at Mackenzie Health Foundation is to work with the community to raise funds to support our hospitals, ensuring that patients and families in York Region have access to exceptional and compassionate health care now and for generations to come. Whether it’s a child with a broken arm, a grandparent who has fallen, or a woman in labour, our community can count on Mackenzie Health in the moments that matter most. And as our community continues to grow with over 700,000 patient visits every year, the need for increased access to health care is more important than ever.
