About Victoria Hospitals Foundation (VHF)
How do you help everyone? Help your hospitals.
The Victoria Hospitals Foundation works everyday to champion a culture of philanthropy that transforms healthcare on the Island.
Philanthropy supports equipment, education, research, and special projects for Royal Jubilee (RJH), Victoria General (VGH), and Gorge Road (GRH) hospitals. As referral centres and as the Island’s two largest hospitals, RJH and VGH provide care to over 850,000 people living on Vancouver Island.
Our donors make an impact in every area of care in our hospitals – from newborn care to seniors health. Working with our partner, Island Health, we ensure every gift is directed to where it is needed most in our hospitals – making the greatest impact for patients.
Your support allows our hospitals’ equipment to be purchased more quickly, and ensures our healthcare teams stay on the leading-edge of technology and treatment to provide the best possible patient care. The generosity of our donors has a significant impact on patients in our hospitals. VHF donors fund 40% of the equipment in our hospitals. This showcases your commitment to leading-edge care on Vancouver Island, your support of the brilliant work our care teams provide and your investment in their talents to help attract and retain the best and brightest.
How your gift will be used
Together, we can transform healthcare on the Island. Our community’s generosity allows our care teams to have state-of-the-art equipment sooner and more frequently than if they relied on government funding alone. This improves delivery of care and patient outcomes. It also ensures that patients can remain on the Island for highly advanced and specialty treatment and care, allowing them to stay close to their families and to their homes while they heal.
Estate gifts have a powerful impact on our community. Gifts in wills fund one-third of our equipment purchases each year. Your gift in your will can transform care for future generations. It is through this type of visionary support that our hospitals are equipped for a pandemic or future advancements in health care.
