You can help conquer cancer.
At The Princess Margaret, our goal is to save lives. Compassionate care is underpinned by a commitment to deliver the very best treatment available today, while accelerating research breakthroughs in our labs at The Princess Margaret and across our global network.
Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest comprehensive cancer centre in Canada and one of the top 5 cancer centres in the world. We treat more than 200 types of cancer, including many of Canada’s most complex and rare cases. The Princess Margaret is also home to the largest Cancer Clinical Research Unit in Canada and one of the largest in North America. 19% of our patients are part of clinical trials, a figure almost double the national averages of Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.
If cancer is your cause and you want to make life better and longer for future cancer patients, The Princess Margaret is how you can make that happen.
The most meaningful impact to us is in the faces of our grateful patients and their families. But we also prove our impact through objective measures.
As one of the world’s most influential forces in cancer care, education, and research, Princess Margaret has a track record of breakthrough achievements. This is in part thanks to a highly integrated team of cross-disciplinary experts who collect and use unmatched amounts of data to drive new discoveries and innovations, which lead to change and discovery at the individual and societal levels.
We excel in fields such as cancer stem cells, immunotherapy, cancer genomics, epigenetics, bioinformatics, tumour biology, imaging and drug development.
We are also proud of our leadership and influence on cancer around the world, recognized by such factors as being ranked second worldwide for research papers published in high‐impact oncology journals and fifth for percentage of highly cited papers (2015‐2018), and maintaining collaborations with more than 500 partner institutions in 107 countries.
In addition to ‘high tech’ research and clinical care initiatives, we are paving the way for ‘high touch’ research and clinical approaches, to transform the cancer experience for patients and their families, both close to home and around the world.
