About
YMCA of Northern Alberta has grown a lot since 1907!
At our Health, Fitness, and Aquatics & community centers, we serve more than 19,568 households. YMCA facilities are hubs for connection, where the community can come together to find belonging and well-being. All ages belong at the Y, where they can learn and grow with exciting and engaging recreation programs. No one is ever denied a YMCA experience due to an inability to pay.
YMCA of Northern Alberta is also the largest provider of not-for-profit child care in Western Canada, serving approximately 3,860 children across 57 childcare centers. The care and development of our littlest citizens is of utmost importance to the future of our communities. We actively advocate for universally affordable, accessible, high-quality child care.
Our community and housing initiatives offer employment support, youth guidance, leadership and restorative justice, parenting and caregiver care, newcomer settlement, mental health support, and housing programs to those who need it most.
