Providing excellence in philanthropy for 25 years, the Brant Community Foundation has three main roles:
Endowment Building and Donor Service: A gift to the community foundation is a gift that lasts forever. Community foundations connect donors with the issues and organizations that matter most to them.
Grantmaking: Community Foundations support a wide range of causes – not just one sector or charity. Our experienced team determines impactful grants that respect donor’s wishes.
Community Convening & Leadership: Community Foundations cross many sectors and take an independent view of community issues, so they are able to champion the interests of the community at large.
Through the Brant Community Foundation, you have an opportunity to make a lasting difference in your community and to help shape its future. The donation you make, whether it is a bequest in your will or during your lifetime, will be invested as permanently endowed funds to generate income for charitable purposes in the community, year after year. When you set up a permanent fund with the Brant Community Foundation, you may select from the several different types of funds and choose an appropriate name by which the fund will be known. We are key to unlocking the potential of your giving across Brantford, Brant County, the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

Our Impact
Brant Community Foundation has been making an impact across our region since it was established in 1997. In our early years, our grants to local charities were modest. The first year we granted saw $73,000 in grants reach charities in our community. Today, we grant more than $700,000 each year. Over time, the impact of grants is impressive, with $6.3 million reaching vital, hopeful, and essential programs.
Our inclusive approach means that we will grant across all sectors. From health, older adults, children and youth, to arts, culture and heritage, and food and housing insecurity, the environment and community development, we make grants that really matter. We work to ensure that all sectors in our communities can address pressing needs and help our communities to thrive.
Donors are the key to these community investments. With an impressive endowment of $21 million, we invest these funds responsibly and grant according to our donors wishes.
