About Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation
The Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation advances the health of our community, through innovation and enhancements to healthcare services in Southeastern Alberta.
We are a registered charity that has been working on this mission for more than 25 years – and still works tirelessly to keep our community healthy and safe. Through our fundraising and other initiatives, we bring a whole world of new medical practices and technology directly to our city, improving quality of life and care.
Since 1997, the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation has received more than 3 million in estate planning gifts.
“Michael and Josephine were philanthropists and community supporters throughout their life. They worked hard, and, in turn, liked to support their community. To ensure this would continue after their passing, they set up a family foundation for their investments. Annual interest is paid to the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation as per their final wishes. Their legacy continues to support healthcare needs in the community year after year.”
How your gift will be used
Your gift will be used to fund local healthcare initiatives, programs, and equipment. Ensuring that your family, friends, and neighbours have quality healthcare today – and that future generations have it tomorrow.
“When Sandra Lee Kohls passed away her husband Larry reached out to the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation in regards to Sandra’s last wishes. She had been an LPN in kidney care and had invested money that would specifically go to this area in her memory. The department now has 3 new dialysis chairs and bike attachments that will be part of Sandra Lee’s lasting legacy for years to come!”
