About
YOU CAN HELP MAKE A LASTING, LOCAL IMPACT.
At the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) Foundation, we work closely with the community to support STEGH in providing exceptional patient care. As an independent organization proudly accredited by Imagine Canada, we have been dedicated to enhancing local healthcare since our founding in 1985 by forward-thinking community leaders.
Our work is guided by a committed Volunteer Board of Directors, with a Finance & Audit Committee ensuring transparent and responsible management of our funds while the Governance & Nominating Committee supports effective board leadership and management.
Over the years, we have raised over $83 million to fund state-of-the art equipment and technology at STEGH. This significant achievement reflects the unwavering support of our community and has had a profound impact. The advanced tools and technology we’ve provided enable STEGH to offer higher-quality care, improving patient outcomes and overall health services.
The funds we raise help STEGH stay at the forefront of medical advancements, directly benefiting those who rely on the hospital. By equipping STEGH with the latest innovations, we ensure access to essential, life-saving care and equipment, and excellence in patient care. Together, we want to continue to have the heartfelt healthcare our incredible, tight knit community deserves. When our family, friends and neighbours need care, we all believe it should be available around the next corner, not in the next city over.
Our Impact
Together, STEGH Foundation and STEGH have achieved significant success in raising funds to support equipment, innovation, and modern facilities at our local hospital. Last year, we raised over $4 million for our Transforming Tomorrow diagnostic imaging campaign and other crucial equipment, greatly enhancing our hospital’s ability to serve the community.
Recent accomplishments include:
- Raising $156,000 to purchase 10 Centrella Smart+ Hospital Beds, which promote independence and improve patient comfort during recovery.
- Securing over $60,000 for new patient monitoring units at the Internal Medicine and Continuing Care Centre.
- Investing $800,000 in relocating STEGH’s laboratory program to the new North Tower building, completed in June 2024, for more efficient testing.
Through these efforts, the STEGH Foundation and our community work together to support STEGH in providing excellent patient care.
