Our Impact
Through various programs and services, we support women and their families who are experiencing abuse, homelessness, poverty, mental health concerns, and under-employment. Our continuum of care includes shelter, housing, counselling, language skills, childcare, parenting, and economic empowerment support.
Because of the incredible community, YW Calgary continues to meet our client’s immediate and most basic needs, then works directly with them to create positive and sustainable change in their lives.
Last year:
- Over 6,000 individuals were served through our programs in mental health, domestic violence, and economic prosperity.
- 3,300 individuals accessed YW mental health support, with 95% of survey respondents reporting that they felt more hopeful for their futures.
- 4,000 individuals at risk of domestic violence received YW-provided services, with 91% of survey respondents reporting that since the programming they feel safe in their relationships.
YW Calgary continues to amplify the voices of vulnerable people and advocates every day to help women, children, and gender-diverse people.
