What began nearly 50 years ago as a small community hospital has grown to one of Nova Scotia’s largest regional hospitals, with deep roots in our community. Leading the Nation in Orthopedic Care – You helped make history when Dr. Jennifer Leighton performed Canada’s first total hip replacement using the Mako SmartRobotics™ System. Patients are now experiencing greater precision for joint replacement, faster recovery, and better outcomes.
Our First MRI – Together, we brought an MRI to the Dartmouth General for the very first time, adding 5,000 more scans each year. That means quicker answers, earlier treatment, and less travel for patients and families.
The Deanne Reeve Pelvic Health Suite – Your support created a welcoming, modern space for gynecology and urology care. Patients now receive same-day procedures in greater comfort, with shorter waits and more coordinated care.
Advancing Equity in Healthcare – With your help, we are expanding community programs and funding African Nova Scotian Healthcare Bursaries, and Community Programs – breaking down barriers and ensuring care is inclusive for everyone we serve.
