Our mission is to provide supportive and nurturing mentoring relationships that foster personal growth and development, helping youth build confidence, develop life skills, and pursue their dreams.

Our Vision

We aim to create a community where every young person has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. By eliminating barriers and providing resources, we help youth navigate their paths to success, fostering confident, capable, and resilient individuals.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara

We match children with volunteer mentors in professionally supported one-to-one relationships designed to be fun and engaging while providing essential guidance and support.

Our diverse programs cater to the unique needs of each child through community-based mentoring, school-based programs, and group activities.

Join us in empowering the next generation. Whether you become a mentor, volunteer, or supporter, your involvement can shape the future of a young person in our community.

Our Impact

Mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters has a BIG ImpactEvery dollar invested in our mentoring program generates a $23 return on investment to society through better school, employment, health and civic engagement outcomes for mentored youth and by creating positive outcomes in life and the community through taxes, earnings, volunteerism, and donations.

We advocate for prevention methods that provide children and youth with the confidence to overcome challenges and succeed.  Our programs support mental health, education, and employment readiness, empowering young individuals to navigate life and achieve personal growth.

Our mentoring programs strive to reach young people facing adversities and who are needing an additional, supportive relationship.  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara matches young people with a caring adult, volunteer Mentor.  Our Mentors are professionally trained and supported to ignite the unique power and potential of each Mentee.  All mentoring matches are overseen and supported by a professional Caseworker who provides support to the Mentor, Mentee and family through a Nationally Accredited monitoring program.

How your gift will be used

Your gift will help provide the necessary means for children and youth to navigate life, create opportunities, and change lives through supportive connections.  Once matched, the Mentor and Mentee build a healthy, caring, developmental relationship that is supported on an on-going basis by our professionally trained and accredited Casework team.  Mentors for this program are required to commit for a minimum of one year; however, the positive impacts of this mentoring relationship can often last a lifetime.

On average, BBBSN serves over 900 children and youth per fiscal year and your donation can help transition young individuals from the waitlist into meaningful mentorship relationships, profoundly impacting their futures.
