As the nationwide leader and champion for mental health, CMHA facilitates access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience, and support recovery from mental illness and addiction.
Our Impact
CMHA York Region South Simcoe is an award-winning, multidisciplinary community mental health agency, which every year supports more than 20,000 individuals aged 12 years and older, providing specialized care from assertive community treatment and early psychosis intervention, to court diversion, case management, housing first and supportive housing, specialized youth care, gender affirming health clinic, psycho-social rehabilitation – employment, peer support, occupational therapy, and social recreational activities – cognitive behavioural therapy, and clinical therapy.
Since 1984, our team of staff, volunteers, and donors have supported community-based mental health services and the recovery from mental illness and addictions. We believe in improving access to care by reducing wait times and reaching underserved communities, and embracing bold innovation and thought leadership to better understand the needs in our community in order to develop new solutions and the strong partnerships required to deliver on our vision of Mental Health for All.
