About

The CPA Manitoba Foundation is committed to empowering the next generation of accounting professionals with a focus on advancing equity and inclusion in the profession. Our mission is to provide opportunities through business and accounting education for aspiring accountants—regardless of their background—with scholarships, financial assistance, and comprehensive support services to help them achieve their goals. We help to provide equitable access to a positive education experience in Manitoba.

By leaving a gift to the CPA Manitoba Foundation, you are not just supporting individual students, but also contributing to a more diverse and prosperous future for Manitoba’s communities. Together, we can build pathways to success and ensure the accounting profession reflects the diverse talent within our province.

Our Impact

Manitoba faces a significant shortage of over 200 CPAs, which directly affects businesses, communities, and the provincial economy. The CPA Manitoba Foundation is addressing this need by supporting students from underrepresented groups, including Indigenous communities, broadening the talent pool, and ensuring a stronger future for the profession.

Through initiatives like scholarships, bursaries, and the Indigenous Learners in Accounting Program, we remove financial and systemic barriers that prevent capable individuals from pursuing careers in accounting. Our efforts not only help alleviate the accountant shortage but also foster a diverse and inclusive workforce, vital to the province’s economic success.

How your gift will be used

Your contribution will support programs that create opportunities for aspiring CPAs, including:

  • Scholarships and Bursaries: Providing financial aid to students who may not otherwise afford accounting education.
  • Indigenous Learners in Accounting Program: Inspired by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, this program integrates Indigenous culture and perspectives to increase representation in the profession and create inclusive pathways to success.
  • Gakino’amaage: Teach for Canada: Supporting Indigenous educators and students in Northern Manitoba, improving literacy and numeracy skills, and fostering long-term educational success.
  • Mentorship and Networking: Connecting students with experienced professionals for career guidance and support.
  • Wrap-Around Support: Offering support for tutoring, counseling, and cultural mentorship to ensure students have the resources they need to succeed academically and personally.

Together, we can close the shortage gap and create a future where Manitoba’s businesses and communities benefit from a skilled, diverse, and inclusive workforce. Your support directly impacts students, their families, and the community, paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future for all.
